Sorting the data in ApartmentIQ's Market Survey feature is one of the most powerful ways to understand where your subject property is situated in your curated market. Let’s walk through how to sort your data in all ApartmentIQ reports.

Market Survey Report

Sorting Metrics for Storytelling

  • Login to ApartmentIQ.

  • Click into your preferred subject property within My Properties.

  • Navigate to the Market Survey Report along the top of your dashboard.

  • From here, you can sort any data point from high to low, or low to high by hovering and clicking next to each metric or data point as shown below. In doing this, you are able to see where your subject property is sitting in the market relative to that metric.

  • You are also able to then compare your subject property to the greater market average by reviewing the “Comp Average” column for that metric. This can make it easier than ever to showcase the ways your subject property is performing at or above the average of the market.

Sort Your Comps via Custom Sort Order

By default, your Market Survey Report will always default to sort by distance. However, you can now establish a custom sort order for your competitive properties. This allows you to freely sort by other metrics for storytelling purposes, and later, reset your comps to your custom sort order.

To get started:

  • Drag and drop your comps into your custom sort order of preference.

  • In the new “Sort” filter, select “Custom Sort” to save your preferred custom sort order.

  • You can now freely sort by any metric that you would like, for example, Google Reviews, or Year Built, to see where your subject is positioned within the market and the average of the market. You can sort by clicking to the right of each metric itself, or by selecting the metric you wish to sort by within the sort dropdown itself.

  • To reframe your Market Survey to the custom comp order, simply click the sort button and select “Custom Sort” once again.

Additional Reports: Floor Plans, Units, Historicals

  • Click into your preferred subject property or Market Survey.

  • Navigate to the report of choice along the top of your dashboard. In this example, I will head over to the Floor Plan report.

  • Once in your preferred report, you can sort any metric within the data tables from high to low, or low to high by hovering next to the metric and selecting your preference. This will allow you to gauge where your property, unit types, or individual units are situated in your curated market based on any metric you select. In this example, I have sorted by square footage.
