Google Drive - via Zapier
In this article, you will learn how to to create a scheduled Zap in Zapier to automatically upload the ApartmentIQ data transfer CSV file to Google Drive.
Steps:
- Sign in to Zapier: Open your web browser and navigate to the Zapier website (https://zapier.com/). Sign in using your Zapier account credentials.
- Create a new Zap: Click on the "Make a Zap" button at the top right corner to create a new Zap.
- Choose the trigger app: In the "Choose a Trigger App" search box, type "Schedule" and select the "Schedule by Zapier" app as the trigger for your Zap.
- Set the recurrence interval: Configure the recurrence pattern by specifying the frequency and interval at which the Zap should run. For example, you can choose to run the Zap every day at a specific time.
- Add an action app: After setting up the trigger, click on the "+" button below the trigger step to add an action app.
- Connect Google Drive: In the action menu, search for and choose “Google Drive.” If prompted, sign in to your Google Drive account and allow access.
- Set up Google Drive action: Under “Events” choose “Upload file.” Click “Continue.”
- Configure the action: Select the desired Google Drive folder where you want to upload the CSV file.
- Connect to ApartmentIQ: In the “File” field, paste in the data transfer URL from ApartmentIQ.
- Name the file: In the “File name” field, enter a name you would like the data transfer file to appear as in your Google Drive.
10.1 Note: To include the current date in the file name, click into the File Name field and select a date value from the “Insert Data” menu.
- Set the file extension: Add “.csv” text to the “File Extension” field.
Configuring the Google Drive File Upload action
- Test the Zap: Click on the "Test & Continue" button to run a test of the Zap. Ensure that the CSV file is successfully retrieved and uploaded to the specified Google Drive folder.
- Enable the scheduled Zap: Once you have tested the Zap successfully, click on the "Turn Zap on" button to enable the scheduled Zap. It will now run automatically based on the recurrence pattern you defined.
That's it! You have created a scheduled Zap in Zapier that retrieves the data transfer CSV file from ApartmentIQ and uploads it to a Google Drive folder. The Zap will run at the specified intervals and save the CSV file in the designated Google Drive folder.
